What will happen on a Sunday?

Trinity North East welcomes anyone to our Sunday gatherings, starting February 21, 2010 at 10am.   Whether you’re visiting from another church, passing through town, invited along by a friend or curious about the Bible and the Christian faith, you’re more than welcome to join us!  If you visit Trinity North East for a Sunday Service, you’ll be greeted at the door by one of the welcome team.  They’ll introduce themselves and offer to show you to a seat.  If you have children with you, one of the welcome team will explain the kids programs that are on offer and introduce you to a kids ministry leader or helper.

During the service:

There will be some singing (the words will be on the screen at the front so you can join in).

Someone will read a section of the Bible (you’ll be able to follow the passage on the screen).

One of our ministers, usually James Harricks, will speak for about 25 minutes, explaining the Bible passage that was read.  Normally this part, the sermon, will be on a successive sections of a particular book of the Bible each week, although we will also address topics like “suffering” or “If I were God I’d …”

One of the church members will pray out loud, on behalf of everyone, for current issues in the world, for the church and for people in the community.

There will be a time of sharing some of our upcoming events.

There will also be an opportunity to fill in a ‘Communication card’.   This is so we can give you some more information about Trinity North East or answer any questions you might have.  We take your privacy very seriously and don’t pass on personal information to any other organisation. Once a month, usually the first Sunday in a month, we share in the Lords Supper. This is where Christians eat bread and drink wine or grape juice to remember Jesus’ death in our place, to forgive our rebellion against God.  If you feel uncomfortable or you’re not a Christian, there is no compulsion to take part in this bit of the service.

After the service:

Parents will pick up their children from their teaching programs in the rooms nearby.

Everyone is invited to stay for tea & coffee and an opportunity to meet people and discuss questions you may have from what was said and done.
